Interiors That Heather Is Loving

New trends are always popping up here and there in the world of fashion and interior design. We talked with Adelé Boutique owner about trends and styles she’s seeing and loving in today’s interiors.
As I scroll through my saved Instagram posts color is definitely the dominating factor. I’m loving apricot, lilac, deep yellow, and green especially. I also am gravitating toward rooms that appear more overly decorated - but in a collected way if that makes any sense.
Rooms with pieces that have been chosen because the inhabitant loves them not because they needed something to fill a spot.
Furniture that goes together but is not a “set" is also something I like - to me, this look is more inviting.
For me, rugs, art, and lighting are what I tend to splurge on. They can make a room! I started collecting original art in my teens and it hangs with prints from my travels or various shops over the years - I am not ashamed to mix high and low when it comes to wall decor. If I love it, it’s going up! As I’m decorating our new (very old) house, I’ve spent most of my budget on replacing the tired solid wall-to-wall carpet with fun patterned wall-to-wall. It doesn’t have to be boring! This has created a foundation for me to build on over the coming years.
My thoughts on design trends are a bit erratic! As a retailer, they are good to look at in order to keep my inventory fresh. But when decorating a home, I am hesitant to implement them too heavily because I think it can make the home feel more dated sooner. If you decorate with colors and patterns that you love your home will have more longevity than if you follow whatever trend is popular at the moment.
